Anxiety Treatment

Anxiety is a feeling of fear, dread, and uneasiness. It might cause you to feel restless, sweat, and have a rapid heartbeat. It can be a normal reaction to stress. However, when a person regularly feels disproportionate levels of anxiety, it might be an anxiety disorder. The symptoms can interfere with daily activities such as job performance, relationships and schoolwork.

Symptoms and Treatment

I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic, Mindfulness and Psychodynamic approaches to help you process and unpack your anxiety symptoms.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an effective research based form of treatment addressing a range of disorders and symptoms including depression, anxiety, and stress. It focuses on understanding the connection between our thoughts, emotions and behavior. My advanced CBT training allows me to apply this method in a more specialized way to meet the specific, complicated, and non-verbal needs of my clients. These sessions focus on identifying specific thoughts and beliefs, labeling your feelings and exploring the reasons for your actions. There is homework given at the end of each session to help strengthen new behaviors (coping skills) and gain insight. Homework may consist of journaling, thought-log worksheets and relaxation techniques.
